The September Update of the Chili Season Report shows that until end of September, 561 chilis weighing 742 grams in total could have been harvested! There are several plants which are still full, but as the days are getting colder and darker, I’m not sure if all of them could ripe enough. Maybe I have to move them inside.

The goal was high: 2020 chilis and at least 2020 grams (2.020kg)! With the above figures I must admit that this will hardly be realistic. Some chilies had very little output this year. The Canario has not even produced any fruit so far…

What did I do with all of them?

Well, during summer a lot of them were used in homemade chili garlic butter! I ljust love it. Some of the chilis also have been used in new recipes. There’s room for improvement.

Now the days are getting darker and colder, which means that in Switzerland it’s going to be high time to take out Fondue and Raclette equipment. And some fancy Pickled Chili Mix!
